Broadway Classroom is the leader in providing educational musical theater experiences for students and aspiring performers. Ordinarily based out of performing studios in NYC, Broadway Classroom made their first field trip out of the Big Apple today to none other than Camp Timber Tops! (They only needed a little convincing to come to us in Greeley!)
Judine Somervile, a Broadway performer and former Rockette, led the charge and taught four theater dance and movement workshops throughout the day. Then, as a final hoorah, and because she was in the original Broadway cast of Hairspray, Judine taught the WHOLE camp the choreography for “You Can’t Stop the Beat,” Hairspray’s famous feel-good theme. It was AMAZING, and Judine is AWESOME (and now an honorary Timber Tops girl). She answered questions about theater, she taught us some moves, and she wore red heels around camp all day. We think she’s just about the coolest person we’ve ever met.
Other highlights of SFA (Supervised Free Activity) today? A cake decorating contest, Kelli Moshen’s dance workshop, and a Junior trip to Costa’s Family Fun Park down the road. Life is good in Greeley!
