Camp Timber Tops, Road Trip Edition!

This week is a great one for juniors and seniors too! Seniors are traveling across the east coast! 9th and 10th graders left this morning, and 7th and 8th graders head out first thing tomorrow. Juniors? They run camp (think carnivals, cookie bakes, extra waterskiing and more)! We’ll update you on juniors soon, but here’s the seniors’ itinerary for the next few days.

7th Grade Trip to The Adirondacks

Travel to the beautiful Adirondack Mountains! Campers stay in the Dutch Quad Dormitories at the State University of New York at Albany. First, we’ll head to the amazing Six Flags Great Escape in Lake George! We’ll then take a relaxing dinner cruise on magnificent Lake George and learn about the history of the area.

The next day, our first destination is underground: the enchanting Howe Caverns! Then, we’re off to Cooperstown, NY for a memorable visit to the World Famous Baseball Hall of Fame. We’ll enjoy a great afternoon of exploring Cooperstown, touring the hall, and finally stopping for dinner at a local restaurant before heading back to camp.

8th Grade Trip to Vermont

Vermont! We begin our adventure with a visit to the famous Shelburne Farms, a 1400-acre working farm, national historic site and environmental education center located on the shores of Lake Champlain. Next, it’s beautiful Burlington! Campers visit Church Street Marketplace for strolling, dinner, and a historical cruise on lovely Lake Champlain.

Day two brings an action-packed day of mountain adventure at the gorgeous Stowe Resort. Campers enjoy the alpine slide, bungee trampoline, gondola sky ride, climbing wall, obstacle course and amazing vistas. We’ll save the best for last: What’s a trip to Vermont without Ben & Jerry’s Ice Cream? We’ll tour the Ben & Jerry’s factory and then it’s back to camp. Oh, maybe we’ll pick up a t-shirt at the UVM bookshop!

9th Grade Trip to New England

New England: a camp favorite! After visiting Quincy Market and Fanieul Hall in Boston, campers visit the famous New England Aquarium and have the opportunity to walk Freedom Trail. Then, A Red Sox game! So cool! After the game we board the bus and head up to Portland, Maine for the next leg of our New England journey.

Campers awake on a beautiful Maine morning and visit the famous Old Orchard Beach and Palace Playland. Walk the boardwalk, ride the ferris wheel and frolic in the ocean. Talk about vacation!

Next, we set sail for Newport, Rhode Island with a full day of site seeing including: Tennis Hall of Fame, Touro Synogauge and a visit to the Brickmarket. Don’t expect a postcard because your camper will be having too much fun exploring the town.

10th Grade Trip to Montreal

Montreal, Tres bien! When we arrive in Canada, after checking into our dorm, campers shop and explore their way around downtown Montreal and historic Old Town Montreal. It’s always a magical way to begin our adventure.

The next day, bring a towel, because you’re going to get wet while jet boating the Lachine Rapids along the mighty St. Lawrence River! We’ll visit nearby La Ronde Amusement Park to experience the thrills of Canada’s second largest theme park. Then, we’ll spend the evening dining and enjoying world-famous Catherine Street.
