It’s another beautiful day in Greeley, PA! Polar bears for our polar bears, followed by late wakeup for the rest of us (woohoo!), followed by blueberry pancakes, followed by so many intercamp games at Pine Forest! 11 and under, 13 and under, and 15 and under soccer and basketball made for a lot of busy, active Timber Tops girls. And chicken patty sandwiches with sweet potato fries for lunch- yum!
This afternoon our campers with brothers or sisters or cousins at Pine Forest Camp had their family visit! Juniors practiced Lip Sync (which happens tomorrow night!) outside of their bunks during rest hour, and other junior campers prepared for their turn at an overnight up on the upper field!
Speaking of tonight…
Tonight, the evening program is the HIGHLY anticipated ESCAPE FROM CTT! In “Escape,” as its nicknamed, campers are placed in pairs (one junior camper and one senior camper in each group) and must complete a list of activities around camp (think shooting a basketball, kayaking around a buoy in the lake, doing forward rolls in gymnastics, etc.). The first 10 pairs to complete their checklist “ESCAPE” camp and head out for ice cream on a bus decorated with signs saying “WE ESCAPED!” But wait- there’s a catch. While your happy campers are scampering around camp trying to “Escape from CTT,” there are “powder puffs” (counselors stationed around camp trying to whack kids with a sock filled of corn starch) trying to freeze kids who can only be unfrozen by “hydro helpers,” (counselors who squirt frozen campers with water toys)! It’s complicated, and this blogger isn’t doing it justice, but here’s the gist: it’s going to be an AWESOME night at Timber Tops.
Spoiler alert: tomorrow is a super special day at camp. Stay tuned, folks!
