It’s hard to believe that we’re nearing the end of our first full week at camp. Time really does fly when you’re having fun! And we sure are having fun!
Today, our Polar Bears swam for the third and final time to seal the deal and have their names etched in the Polar Bear Club books. Congratulations to so many who participated! Maybe they did it for the bragging rights, maybe they did it for the cookies and hot chocolate, maybe they did for the t-shirts, but we’re endlessly proud of our 2024 Lake Selma CTT Polar Bears!
The weather in Greeley has been spectacular today, filled with glorious sunshine, blue skies and even a chill in the air. And even better than the weather may have been lunch! If you know Timber Tops, you know that our favorite lunch is…DILLAS (short for “quesadillas)! Today, we experienced the magic of “dillas,” also served with salad, rice, bean and cheese burritos, chips, salsa, guacamole, sour cream, cheese, street corn… We could go on. In short, there’s no lunch like a Timber Tops “dilla” lunch!
It’s a good thing we fueled up on “dillas,” because today, many of us played in the Greeley Games with Pine Forest and Lake Owego Camps! The Greeley Games are a series of inter-camp athletic tournaments which we look forward to each year! We love some friendly competition with our brother and sister camps! In today’s Greeley Games, we played U/15 & U/11 soccer, U/13 & U/11 basketball, U15 basketball, U13 softball and we also competed in a Greeley Games archery and art competitions!
You’ll also notice in CampMinder photos today that our 11th graders (who head out to Costa Rica on Sunday- more on that to come!) had a quick sibling visit yesterday so that all those with siblings headed out could grab a hug and wish their siblings a safe and happy journey!
And tonight, our 6th graders (who’ve opted in) head out on an overnight to Blueberry Island! They’ll canoe across Lake Greeley, hike one mile, and find themselves at their private campsite for the night! There, they’ll make dinner, roast marshmallows, sing songs and fall asleep to sounds of crickets, under the starry Greeley sky. We can’t think of anything better.
Goodnight from CTT, the happiest place on Earth!
