Pura Vida!

They’ve landed! They made it! Our 11th graders left Greeley this morning at 4AM for an early morning flight from Newark — And they’re in Costa Rica! Can you believe it?!

CTT CITs, our 11th graders, join forces with the 11th graders at Lake Owego Camp and Pine Forest Camp during their 11th grade summer to do meaningful work in Costa Rica and experience the adventure of a lifetime, the perfect culmination to their camper days! Together, our CITs participate in life-changing community service experiences and then, together, experience all Costa Rica has to offer: zip lining, rafting, and meandering through the rain forests — it’s amazing! Our campers will reflect upon the gift of camp that they’ve been given over so many years, and it’ll inspire their commitment to create that same kind of magic for others. It’s an awesome program our girls aspire to! And we partner with West Coast Connection (a well-known student travel company) for this part of the program. Have THE BEST time, girls! PURA VIDA! We miss you already but know you’ll come back changed, with even more to contribute to our camp community.

Speaking of adventure, today we hit the Delaware Water Gap for the first time! Many of our 10th graders left on our first canoe trip of the summer on this glorious Greeley day. And tonight, our 8th graders (those who opt in) head out for their first overnight!

The day has been anything but ordinary with highlights including a hi-senior flag football game against Lake Owego and a chipwich rest hour meeting/party to celebrate our amazing counselors in these first few days! We appreciate them so much! And tonight, for the cherry on top, it’s CELEBRITY for Juniors, GUESS YOUR BEST for Seniors, PANIC for Hi Seniors. And we’ll be well-fueled by waffles for breakfast, chicken tenders for lunch and lasagna for dinner. Did we mention it’s canteen day again? Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays (canteen days) are the best!

All in all, life is good down the winding road!
