Timber Tops Tuesday, 6/28!

Dear Loyal Followers,

It’s been another particularly beautiful day at camp with a high of 72 degrees and a highlight of strawberry shortcake smells coming from the cooking room. We began the first canoe trips out of camp to the beloved, nearby Hawk’s Nest on the Delaware River. This year’s CAs (our oldest campers, rising 11th graders, otherwise known as “Salix”) set out on our inaugural trip after breakfast with rising 10th graders heading out this afternoon. As campers get older, some of our trips out of camp happen with the boys from our brother camp, Lake Owego. Our Hi-Seniors loved their first trip out on the water and reconnecting with their LOC friends!

Highlights of the day here at CTT included signups for a camper/head staff doubles tennis tournament, signups for the Greeley Games (our first athletic competitions), talent show signups and, of course, regular activities that are anything but regular here at Timber Tops.

And tonight, evening program is the highly anticipated Big Sister/Little Sister Campfire!

While little sisters wait at the campfire, big sisters are given candles and make their way towards littles singing “make new friends but keep the old, one is silver and the other gold.” Big sisters find their little sisters, make a wish for the summer, and together blow out their candle. During the summer, we plan Big/Little time so that big sisters can teach their little sisters songs, cheers, and other camp traditions. Our hope is that these friendships last long after camp is over.

The Big Sister/Little sister campfire is a beautiful tradition, so make sure to check out our online photos in your CampMinder account or on your Campanion app tomorrow. Ha! Like we’d have to remind you! Goodnight from Greeley!
